Intergalactic, new Neil Druckmann game, will be about religion and solitude

Neil Druckmann's highly anticipated Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has finally revealed some details about its intriguing setting, unveiled during the Creator to Creator show. The game plunges players into an alternate future diverging from our timeline in the late 1980s. Central to this future is a new, dominant religion that has spread across the Intergalactic universe. Naughty Dog has invested years crafting the rich lore of this religion, from its origins with its first prophet to its subsequent evolution and corruption.

This religion's birthplace and initial expansion were confined to a single planet, which eventually became completely isolated from the rest of the galaxy. It's on this isolated planet that the protagonist crash-lands, finding herself utterly alone and facing the challenge of survival. This solitary struggle is a key theme of the game, a stark contrast to previous Naughty Dog titles where players often relied on companions. In Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the player must navigate this alien world and solve its mysteries entirely independently—if they hope to escape.

Despite four years of development, a release date remains unannounced. For now, fans eagerly await further updates.
