Jak and Daxter: Power Up in Precursor Basin
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy's Precursor Basin: A Zoomer Driving Challenge Guide
Following Fire Canyon's intense Zoomer section, Precursor Basin offers a less perilous, yet arguably more challenging, vehicular experience in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. This guide details how to conquer Precursor Basin's demanding objectives, essential for trophy hunters.
Herd the Moles
Begin by gently nudging the moles near the entrance with your Zoomer, guiding them back to their burrows. Use the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns, keeping pace with the fleeing moles until four are safely returned to their holes. This rewards you with a Power Cell from the Geologist in Rock Village. However, it's advisable to complete other Basin tasks before leaving.
Catch the Flying Lurkers
These Lurkers, found in the same area, require a chase and direct collision. Anticipate their turns, intercepting them, particularly at strategic points (as illustrated in the images). The final Lurker drops another Power Cell.
Beat the Gorge Record Time (45 Seconds)
The Gambler in Rock Village challenges you to a time trial in the Gorge. This short but demanding course, located near the Basin entrance (hug the right wall), requires a 45-second finish. Utilize Lurkers for extra height, and strategically collect Blue Eco for speed boosts. Avoid Dark Eco Crates by sticking to the center of the track. Master the hop-turn for sharp maneuvers, particularly navigating the pit by performing a 180-degree hop-turn. A sub-40 second time earns a trophy. Completing the course rewards a Power Cell from the Gambler.
Retrieve the Lake Power Cell
Starting from the slope (Image 1), navigate the narrow bridge and utilize hops to cross gaps between islands (Images 2, 3, and 4). A final series of hops (Image 5) leads to a bridge and the Power Cell.
Cure the Dark Eco Infected Plants
Use Green Eco to charge your Zoomer and quickly drive over the purple plants to cure them. They regenerate if you're too slow, so maintain speed and use the hop for sharp turns. Replenish Green Eco as needed. Completion yields a Power Cell.
Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings
This ring challenge requires navigating a series of rings before time runs out. The most challenging parts involve aerial rings off natural bridges. Remember to take the plunge and hop through these rings for a successful completion.
Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings
The Blue Precursor Rings present a tougher challenge, starting near the Lake Power Cell slope. The key is to anticipate the ring spawns and utilize the Zoomer's hop for aerial rings, especially over the lake. Avoid the Zoomer Trans-pad. The final ring hangs precariously over the edge of a slope.
Free the Seven Scout Flies
Collecting all seven Scout Flies earns a Power Cell. Their locations are diverse, from near the mole holes to the tops of slopes and across islands. Refer to the images for precise locations.
This comprehensive guide provides all the necessary steps to complete all objectives in Precursor Basin, maximizing your Jak and Daxter experience.
