Once considered a distant dream, the possibility of Marvel Rivals coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 is now becoming increasingly feasible. NetEase had previously dismissed the idea of releasing the game on the original Nintendo Switch due to technical limitations. However, the forthcoming Switch 2 might just be the game-changer needed to bring this superhero showdown to Nintendo's platform.

During the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu disclosed ongoing discussions with Nintendo, with the primary challenge being to ensure the game runs smoothly on the new console:

"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Previously, game director Thaddeus Sasser made it clear that there were no immediate plans for a mobile version or an original Switch release. Should a Switch 2 port come to fruition, it would likely necessitate a tailored build to leverage the new hardware's capabilities.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 officially announced, major players in the industry are showing strong support for the new platform. Xbox's Phil Spencer has expressed interest in bringing Xbox titles to the system, while Electronic Arts (EA) has also thrown its weight behind the Switch 2.

In the meantime, Marvel Rivals is gearing up for further expansion, with the addition of two members from the Fantastic Four set to invigorate the game's dynamics in future updates.
