Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Gets Extra 24 Hours After PSN Outage

Mar 21,25

Capcom has extended the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that disrupted the previous test. The PSN outage, occurring around 3 PM PT on Friday, February 7th, lasted approximately 24 hours. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue," compensating PlayStation Plus subscribers with an additional five days of service.

This outage impacted online gameplay, including single-player titles requiring server authentication. Monster Hunter Wilds' highly anticipated second beta, scheduled from Thursday, February 6th to Sunday, February 9th, was affected. In response, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session.

The extended beta period will run from Thursday, February 13th, 7 PM PT / February 14th, 3 AM GMT, to Monday, February 17th, 6:59 PM PT / February 18th, 2:59 AM GMT. Capcom confirmed that participation bonuses, also available in the full game, remain accessible during this extended period.

Despite the previous outage, beta participants experienced Monster Hunter Wilds' challenging content, including the formidable new foe, Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For further details on Capcom's latest hunting adventure, explore IGN First coverage, including our Monster Hunter Wilds Final Preview.
