The Sony Bravia XR X93L hit the market back in March 2023. As the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup at the time, it was positioned just below the X95L, which was exclusively available in an 85" size in the U.S. The X93L features Mini LED technology, renowned for its superior performance with HDR content. Mini LED technology utilizes an array of smaller, more numerous LEDs that can be independently controlled, significantly enhancing black levels and contrast ratios.

Gamers will particularly appreciate the X93L, thanks to its four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1. This spec enables 4K output at up to a 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for current-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which will be capped at 60fps in 4K when docked, HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary.
