EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped a new update (Patch 1.18) for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight fighter Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking), and three additional, currently unannounced, alter egos.

The update also addresses several issues: a stamina cost reduction for the muscle modifier (from 3.125x to 2.5x), corrected language translations, and a fix for a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang match result display bug. Additionally, UFC 309 Stipe and Jones portraits have been updated to reflect their glove changes. New vanity rewards and a "Sort by Release Series" option in the More Offers Store are also included.

Despite rumors of a new UFC game, EA Vancouver continues supporting UFC 5, significantly improving roster parity with the current UFC top ten rankings. This update builds on previous efforts to add top-ranked fighters across weight classes, following initial criticism of the game's launch roster.

Importantly, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access EA Sports UFC 5 via EA Play starting January 14th. This is a Ultimate tier-only benefit, separate from the Standard tier's January additions.
