Instagram Posts Spark Excitement for Bloodborne Remaster

A Beloved Classic Poised for a Modern Comeback

Bloodborne, the critically lauded RPG launched in 2015, remains a fan favorite. Players are eager to explore Yharnam’s gothic streets on today’s consoles. While no official announcement has surfaced, recent Instagram posts from FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia showcasing the game have sent fans into a frenzy.

On August 24, FromSoftware shared three images featuring the game’s title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One showcased Djura, a seasoned hunter from Old Yharnam, while others depicted the player Hunter navigating Yharnam’s core and Charnel Lane’s eerie graveyards.

Though these posts might simply be nostalgic nods, Bloodborne enthusiasts on platforms like Twitter (X) are analyzing every detail for hints of a remaster. Many feel tantalized, especially since PlayStation Italia posted similar content on August 17.

PlayStation Italia’s post invited fans to "Swipe through Bloodborne’s iconic settings! Dive into gothic vibes and shadowy secrets. What’s your favorite spot?" Commenters expressed their yearning for Yharnam’s return, some reminiscing about cherished locations while others playfully suggested the game’s true home is on PC or next-gen consoles.

A Decade On, Fans Still Hunt for Bloodborne on New Platforms

Debuting in 2015 as a PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne has cultivated a devoted following, often hailed as one of gaming’s finest achievements. Yet, it lacks a sequel or remaster to bring it to modern audiences.

Fans cite the 2020 Demon’s Souls remake, originally released in 2009, as a hopeful precedent. Still, they worry about a lengthy wait, given Demon’s Souls took over a decade to be reimagined. With Bloodborne’s tenth anniversary nearing, anticipation for a refreshed version grows stronger.

In a February interview with Eurogamer, Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki stoked the flames. While avoiding firm commitments, he acknowledged the value of remastering the game for modern systems.

"New hardware definitely enhances the value of remakes," Miyazaki noted. "But it’s not the sole factor. From a player’s perspective, modern systems make games more accessible, allowing more people to enjoy them. That accessibility matters to me as a gamer."

Miyazaki’s words offer hope, but the decision rests with Sony, not FromSoftware. Unlike Elden Ring, fully owned by FromSoftware, Bloodborne’s IP belongs to Sony.

"I can’t discuss Bloodborne specifically," Miyazaki told IGN. "We don’t own the IP at FromSoftware. It was a remarkable project for me personally, with many fond memories, but we’re not in a position to comment further."

Bloodborne’s passionate community continues to dream of a remake. Despite its critical acclaim and strong sales, Sony has yet to bring it beyond the PS4. Only time will reveal if these remaster rumors become reality.
