Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold 4.4 million copies, a milestone confirmed by staff at developer Sandfall Interactive.

While official numbers remain at 3.3 million copies sold within its first 33 days, marketing and release producer Benjamin Dimanche, hair and technical character artist Amandine Marest, and senior gameplay programmer Florian Torres disclosed in a talk with French streamer Antoine Daniel that sales have now exceeded 4.4 million.

During the video interview, when Daniel inquired about current sales, Torres and Marest responded simultaneously. Torres began with "Officially...", but Marest immediately interjected with "4.4 million." The three exchanged glances, laughed, and Torres clarified: "Officially, it's 3.3 million, but the actual figure is 4.4 million" (via Gamereactor).

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24 for PC and consoles, and was available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. It launched alongside Bethesda's massive RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, making this achievement particularly remarkable for Sandfall's first title.

In IGN's 9/10 review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, we called it a "modern RPG classic," noting: "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 often evoked memories of many beloved classic and contemporary RPGs, but developer Sandfall truly grasped what makes those games special and successfully made those inspirations its own."
