Wolcen's "ExtrAction RPG" Unveiled

Feb 20,25

Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play action RPG incorporating extraction shooter mechanics. A closed alpha test begins January 25th in Europe, expanding to North America on February 1st.

Game director Andrei Cirkulete describes the game as a blend of "the tension and risk-reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of a combat RPG," hinting at influences from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. Player feedback is highly anticipated.

Players assume the role of a Death messenger, battling AI and other players across diverse maps. Successful extractions preserve hard-earned trophies, while failed attempts result in complete loot loss.

The game offers extensive customization, including base building, equipment personalization, and diverse playstyles. The world draws inspiration from various mythologies, with player trading forming the core of its economy.

The initial adventure unfolds in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian legends. Despite being in early alpha, the developers emphasize active community involvement to shape the game's development.
