Blizzard Fails to Extend Diablo 3 Event

Diablo 3 fans are currently enjoying the traditional "Fall of Tristram" event, which is set to conclude on February 1. However, many in the community have expressed a desire for the event to remain in the game beyond this date. In response to these fan requests, community manager pezradar clarified the situation, stating, "I asked about Tristram and the possibility of extending it, but unfortunately [the event] is hard-coded and it's impossible to make server-side fixes." This hard-coded nature of the event makes any extension currently unfeasible.

In other Diablo 3 news, pezradar also addressed the delay of Season 34 of Call of Light, which has disrupted weekend plans for some players. He apologized for the inconvenience, explaining, "I'm sorry. It's not what I was hoping for. We were notified about 24 hours before we had to adjust the time. The team needs to create new code to ensure a smooth transition between seasons after problems with the automatic scheduler that ended [last 33rd] season early in early January." The additional time will be used to implement and test new code, ensuring a seamless transfer of player progress between seasons. Pezradar acknowledged the need for improved communication with players in the future, stating, "We can improve communication with players at earlier stages, and the team is aware of this for the future."

Shifting focus to another exciting development in the gaming world, Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing for Project Pantheon will commence on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players joining the test on February 1. Game director Andrei Cirkulete described the game as a unique blend, saying, "We've blended the tension and risk reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games." Project Pantheon draws inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, aiming to create a thrilling experience. Players will assume the role of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a world in chaos. The team at Wolcen Studio is eager to receive feedback from the gaming community during the alpha testing phase.
