Indus Downloads Soar, Manila Playtest Wraps

Dec 14,24

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, surpasses five million Android downloads within two months of its launch, exceeding 100,000 iOS downloads. This follows its success at the Google Play Awards, earning the "Best Made in India Game 2024" title, and a successful international playtest in Manila.

SuperGaming, the developer, aims to establish Indus as a leading Indian esports title, rivaling games like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

To further this ambition, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, a significant esports initiative spearheaded by the Indus International Tournament. This tournament, running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000) prize pool.

Significant Achievement, Further Growth Expected

While Indus's five million downloads are impressive, they fall slightly short of the ten million pre-registrations. However, pre-registration numbers often don't fully translate to actual downloads. The lower iOS download count suggests the game hasn't yet fully penetrated that market segment in India.

Despite this, Indus's rapid progress, highlighted by international playtests and a dedicated esports tournament, points to SuperGaming's ambitious plans for the game's future.
