Ubisoft Reveals Customization and Progression in Assassin's Creed: Shadows

Ubisoft has unveiled exciting new gameplay features for *Assassin's Creed: Shadows*, focusing on the equipment and progression systems for the game's protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. A highlight of the game is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, a feature that fans are sure to appreciate.

Both characters come with unique skill trees designed to complement their distinct combat styles. Yasuke, the samurai, will have access to specialized techniques, while Naoe, the shinobi, will focus on stealth and agility. Players can allocate skill points to unlock weapon-specific abilities or refine their fighting styles. Mastery points, earned through completing open-world objectives or defeating formidable enemies like Daisyo samurai, further enhance character development.

To maintain balanced progression, both Yasuke and Naoe will advance at an even pace, ensuring neither character falls behind. Unlocking powerful abilities often requires specific in-game actions, such as tracking down a mysterious shinobi group. Additionally, the "Knowledge" scale plays a crucial role in progression. By studying manuscripts or praying at shrines, players can advance this scale, and reaching the sixth Knowledge rank unlocks an entirely new skill tree.

Ubisoft also detailed the equipment system, which categorizes items into five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade their gear at a blacksmith and customize its appearance. Special perks on armor and weapons can significantly alter gameplay dynamics, offering strategic advantages.

The Hidden Blade remains a central element, now capable of instantly killing enemies with a single, precise strike. *Assassin's Creed: Shadows* is set to launch globally on March 20 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, promising an immersive experience with its rich progression and equipment systems.
