Capcom 宣布举办其首届游戏开发大赛——Capcom 游戏大赛。 这是一场面向日本学生的比赛，参赛者将使用 Capcom 专有的 RE 引擎进行游戏开发，目标是通过“促进教育机构的研究发展”来振兴游戏产业。 通过产学研合作，Capcom 希望增强整个行业的整体实力，促进研究发展，并在比赛中培养潜在的优秀人才。
比赛中，学生将组成最多 20 人的团队，每个成员将根据游戏制作人员的职位类型分配角色。 团队成员将在六个月内共同努力开发一款游戏，并获得 Capcom 专业开发人员的支持，从而学习“尖端的游戏开发流程”。 此外，Capcom 计划为比赛获胜者提供“游戏制作支持以及商业化的机会”。
报名时间为 2024 年 12 月 9 日至 2025 年 1 月 17 日（除非另行通知）。 符合参赛资格的人员必须年满 18 岁，并且目前在日本大学、研究生院或职业学校注册学习。
RE 引擎，也被称为 Reach for the Moon 引擎，是 Capcom 自 2014 年开发的专用游戏开发引擎，最初设计用于 2017 年的《生化危机7：生物危机》。 此后，它也被用于多款 Capcom 游戏，例如其他最近的《生化危机》游戏、《龙之信条2》、《鬼武者：女神之路》，以及明年即将推出的《怪物猎人：荒野》。 同时，该引擎也在不断发展和升级，以开发更高质量的游戏。
