Developer Announces Major Tweaks to REPO's Overcharge and Difficulty Scaling
Exciting changes are on the horizon for REPO, as the developers at Semiwork are set to revamp the game's difficulty scaling and introduce new mechanics every 10 levels. Dive in to discover the latest on the Overcharge mechanic and what the developers have been working on during the game's open beta.
REPO Development Updates
Overcharge Overhaul
REPO recently launched an open beta for their upcoming update, gathering crucial feedback from fans. One key area that caught the developers' attention was the Overcharge mechanic.
The Overcharge feature allows players to counter enemies by lifting and hurling them onto hard surfaces or away from their team. However, this action isn't without limits; an overcharge meter will fill up, and if it reaches full capacity, the player will explode.
Originally available from the game's outset, the Overcharge mechanic is now set to unlock at level 10. Moreover, Semiwork plans to introduce new difficulty-increasing mechanics at levels 20, 30, and beyond, making Overcharge the initial challenge in this progression.
These new mechanics will not only ramp up the difficulty but also enrich the game’s lore. As Semiwork mentioned, "So this system will be also tied to lore. It won’t be just a gimmick for no reason. There will be something attached to this and we will share more details in the future."
Developers Joined Open Beta Matchmaking
During the open beta, Semiwork developers participated in random matches, engaging with players to gather their thoughts on potential improvements. Pontus Sundstrom, a developer at Semiwork, expressed his delight in seeing players enjoy the new additions to the game.
He revealed, "And I've also actually played with a lot of you guys - incognito, in secret, through the random matchmaking in the servers." Sundstrom further noted, "And I've been asking some questions and finding out what you guys find fun, stuff like that."
With the valuable community feedback from the open beta, Semiwork is committed to enhancing REPO. Players can anticipate more exciting updates in the future, as the developers have promised to keep the community informed.
