Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch, a frustrating issue impacting gameplay. This guide provides a solution to significantly reduce shader compilation time.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game loading times can vary, especially online titles. However, Marvel Rivals PC players report lengthy shader compilation delays, often lasting several minutes. Shaders are crucial programs managing visual elements like lighting and color in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems. Even with correct installation, this issue persists in Marvel Rivals. Fortunately, a community-discovered workaround exists.

A Marvel Rivals subreddit user, Recent-Smile-4946, offered a solution addressing the slow compilation:

Adjust your Nvidia Control Panel's global settings. Specifically, lower the Shader Cache Size to a value at or below your VRAM capacity.

Note: The available options are limited (5GB, 10GB, and 100GB). Select the option closest to your VRAM size. This method not only drastically reduces shader compilation time (to mere seconds) but also resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.

While this workaround is effective, players may prefer to await a developer patch. NetEase Games hasn't yet publicly acknowledged the problem. Until an official fix arrives, this solution provides a practical workaround to avoid excessive loading delays.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
