Sony Reveals Ghost of Yotei Day-One Update, Adds Key Fixes
Ghost of Yotei, the PlayStation 5 exclusive, has received a day-one patch that introduces several significant features to the game.
Sony has officially shared the patch notes with IGN, confirming that players with physical discs must install this update. The company advises everyone to ensure they are running Version 1.006 from now on.
Given its importance, it's helpful to understand what this patch brings to Ghost of Yotei. The update delivers various performance enhancements, addresses ray tracing inconsistencies, and resolves crash issues. On the gameplay front, it patches a lengthy list of bugs, refines the camera system, and introduces multiple balance tweaks.
Additionally, the patch includes extensive animation refinements, notable environment upgrades, and user interface corrections. It also adds new elements to photo mode, such as stamps and new particle effects featuring birds native to Hokkaido.
Ultimately, the day-one patch for Ghost of Yotei is a crucial download. The game itself launches officially on October 2.
Ghost of Yotei is the highly anticipated successor to Sucker Punch's hit PlayStation action-adventure, Ghost of Tsushima. IGN's review awarded it an 8/10, stating: "While its story may follow a familiar path, Ghost of Yotei guides players through stunning landscapes and delivers deeply satisfying, fluid combat. It may not reinvent the open-world genre, but it perfectly captures the essence of the samurai fantasy."
