inZOI's Upcoming Karma System and Ghostly Encounters

inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim recently revealed intriguing details about a planned Karma system, introducing a paranormal element to the game's realistic simulation. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.

High Karma Zois transition peacefully to the afterlife, while those with insufficient points linger as ghosts, tasked with accumulating enough Karma to move on. The specific actions required to increase Karma remain undisclosed.

Kim emphasized a balanced approach: "We want to keep the playability of ghosts fairly limited so it doesn’t overshadow the main gameplay, but we also want to make sure the experience is engaging enough when it does happen." Currently, interactions with ghost Zois are limited to specific conversations under defined circumstances.

Kim expressed a desire to explore more fantastical elements alongside the game's core realism: "While we’re committed to refining the realistic elements of inZOI first, I’d love to explore more fantasy-driven elements in the future."

A glimpse into the Karma system was provided by content creator MadMorph in a sponsored video. He showcased "Karma Interactions," offering players a range of choices, from positive actions (like liking a friend's post) to less savory ones (such as secretly farting on another Zoi's face).
